Inclusion & Access
Accessibility Statement
Last updated: April 4, 2026
Calorie0 is committed to making our Platform accessible to everyone, including people with disabilities. We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 Level AA as a baseline standard.
Current Status
We are actively working toward WCAG 2.1 AA conformance. Measures we have already implemented include:
- → Semantic HTML elements used throughout for correct document structure.
- → Colour contrast ratios designed to meet AA standards for text and interactive elements.
- → Keyboard-navigable interface — all interactive elements are reachable without a mouse.
- →
aria-labelandaria-expandedattributes on interactive components (navigation menus, modals, buttons). - → Focus indicators visible on all interactive elements.
- → Images and icons include descriptive alt text or are marked as decorative where appropriate.
- → Font sizes and spacing designed to support readability and text scaling.
- → No content that flashes more than 3 times per second (seizure risk mitigation).
Known Limitations
We are aware of areas that need improvement and are actively working to address them:
- → Some complex data visualisations (charts, progress rings) do not yet have full screen reader descriptions.
- → Certain animated transitions may be distracting for users with vestibular disorders. We plan to add a "reduce motion" setting that respects the
prefers-reduced-motionmedia query. - → Some form error messages could be more descriptive for screen reader users.
Browser and Assistive Technology Compatibility
Calorie0 is designed to be compatible with the following:
- → Modern browsers: Chrome, Safari, Firefox, and Edge (latest two major versions).
- → Screen readers: NVDA and JAWS on Windows; VoiceOver on macOS and iOS; TalkBack on Android.
- → Keyboard-only navigation on desktop browsers.
- → Touch interfaces on iOS and Android mobile devices.
Feedback and Contact
We welcome feedback on the accessibility of Calorie0. If you experience barriers that are not listed above, or if a page or feature is not working as expected with your assistive technology, please let us know.
Email us at hello@calorie0.com with the subject line "Accessibility Issue". Please include:
- → The page or feature where you encountered the issue.
- → The assistive technology and browser you are using.
- → A description of the problem and what you were trying to do.
We aim to respond within 5 business days and will work to resolve confirmed accessibility issues in our next available release cycle.
